The monsoon was not merely weather; it was a rhythmic, suffocating embrace that turned the city into a blurred landscape of grey and neon. Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows of the master suite, the rain lashed against the glass with a violence that made the interior of the room feel like a fortified sanctuary. Inside, the air was heavy with the scent of burning sandalwood and the faint, sweet trail of vanilla candles that Piya had lit an hour ago.
Piya was reclined against the dark, tufted velvet headboard. A thick, leather-bound volume of poetry sat in her lap, but her eyes hadn't moved from a single line in nearly twenty minutes. She was listening. Every nerve in her body was tuned to the house below, waiting for the heavy thud of the front door.
She was a vision of calculated, exotic provocation. The emerald nightie she wore was a masterpiece of liquid silk. The inner slip was dangerously short, its scalloped lace hem resting high on her golden thighs, clinging to every curve with an almost translucent thinness. It was held up by micro-thin gold-chain straps that glinted in the amber lamplight, highlighting the sharp, elegant line of her collarbone. Over it, she wore a sheer chiffon robe, a floor-length gossamer cloud that trailed off the edge of the bed, its cuffs heavy with emerald-dyed ostrich feathers that shivered with every breath she took.
Finally, the sound came—the muffled click of the front door, followed by the heavy, measured tread of Raj’s boots on the marble stairs. It was the sound of a man returning from a battlefield.
When the bedroom door finally opened, Raj stood in the threshold, framed by the shadows of the hallway. He looked exhausted, his charcoal suit rumpled, his white shirt damp from the dash between his car and the porch. He stopped dead. His briefcase hit the plush rug with a muffled thud. His eyes, dark and burning with an immediate, sharp intensity, traveled from the shivering feathers on her sleeves to the plunging neckline of the silk slip, finally settling on the sliver of bare skin where the lace ended.
"You're late," Piya murmured, the book sliding from her lap to the duvet as she shifted, the silk rustling like a secret.
Raj didn't speak. He began to undress with a slow, agonizing deliberation. He kept his eyes locked onto hers as he unbuttoned his cuffs, then his shirt, one pearl button at a time. He shed the fabric, revealing the hard, tanned planes of his chest. He stepped out of his shoes, then his trousers, discarding his clothes in a trail across the floor until he stood before her completely bare, his physique imposing and powerful in the dim light.
He climbed onto the bed, the mattress groaning under his weight. He didn't go for her lips immediately. He wanted the friction. He pulled her body against his, her back to his chest, the sheer chiffon of her robe the only thing separating his hot skin from her silk-clad curves. He wrapped his arms around her, his large hands splaying across her stomach, pulling her hips flush against his.
He began to move against her, a slow, rhythmic grinding. He rubbed his chest against her back, the friction of his nipples against the thin silk of her slip creating a static heat that made Piya’s breath hitch. He moved his hips, dry humping her with a slow, deliberate pressure. His hands wandered up, sliding inside the robe to find her breasts. He squeezed them through the thin silk, his thumbs raking over the peaks until Piya was arching her back, her fingers clenching the duvet.
"I have a game for us tonight, Raj," she breathed, turning in his arms to face him. Her hands rested on his bare chest, her palms feeling the frantic, heavy thud of his heart. "A game of truths and consequences. You ask the questions—about us, our past, our future—and my answers dictate how you move."
Raj’s gaze darkened. He reached down, his hand sliding under the hem of her slip. He found the thin, delicate string of her thong. With a sudden, possessive growl, he hooked his fingers and snapped the lace, the sound sharp in the quiet room. He tossed the ruined fabric aside.
"Tell me the rules," he commanded.
"If my answer is 'No', you enter me... but so slowly that every second is a torture. If it's 'Yes', you give me three of your strongest, deepest thrusts. And if it's 'Maybe'... you stay inside and rotate. You grind until I can't think. And in between... you don't stop kissing me."
